About

Welcome to Athy Gymnastics Club.

Athy Gymnastics Club is located in Ardscoil Na Trionoide Sports Hall, Athy. We provide gymnastics classes for all Competitive, Recreational and Special Needs gymnasts.

Our club was set up in 1974 and was originally located in the CBS, Athy. The club initially started out as an acrobatic club and achieved great success and also hosted the 1983 All-Ireland Sports Acrobatic Championships.

At the end of 1983 the club moved from CBS to Athy Lion’s Centre where the club was involved in numerous Community Games events including hosting  the Athy event on numerous occasions. In 1984, the club purchased its first Trampoline, are rare purchase at that time.

During the 90’s the club grew from strength to strength and developed new gymnastics programmes in the disciplines of Acrobatics, Trampolining and Tumbling. This development would lead to the clubs gymnasts reaching great success on the national and international stage at both competitive events and special olympic events.

In the early 2000’s the club relocated to a new facility located in Ardscoil Na Trionoide, Athy. The club has continued to grow since and today has over 200 members who train and compete in the disciplines of Trampoline, Tumbling and Acrobatics.

Athy Gymnastics Club currently has 4 Olympic Eurotramp Ultimate Trampolines, 15m Air Tumble track and 30m² Acrobatics floor. The club is an active member of gymnastics national governing body, Gymnastics Ireland and we currently take part in the GymSTART, National Series and GymABLE events throughout the club year. All of our coaches are Gymnastics Ireland trained and qualified.
